Black Forest 
Black Forest is an unincorporated neighborhood in El Paso County, approximately twenty miles from downtown Colorado Springs. Black Forest area consists of approximately 200,000 acres of rolling, forested hills. This area was appropriately named Black Forest due to the heavily forested Ponderosa Pines, and when viewed from the summit of Pikes Peak, this area appears to be a vast black mass. Black Forest is attractive to residents because of the rural, private feel, yet conveniently close to the city for more amenities. The average commute into Downtown Colorado Springs is about a 30 to 45-minute drive.

Briargate is a planned development with over 10,000 acres in the northern part of Colorado Springs that is still fast-growing. However, due to the ongoing development and growth of Briargate, the newer developed areas lack mature landscaping and sparsely treed. Rockrimmon
The Rockrimmon community is well known for its stunning views of the city that are found at the top of the unique bluffs and cliffs. The winding roads leading to Rockrimmon give off the feeling of living in the mountains while only being minutes away from downtown Colorado Springs. The topography in Rockrimmon is some of the most interesting in the entire region with dramatically steep to traditionally flat home sites, a little bit of everything can be found here.
Rockrimmon starts just north of the Garden of the Gods park and extends to the southern boundary of the United States Air Force Academy.
