 Rustic Hills is conveniently located only about 6 miles from downtown Colorado Springs and north Powers Boulevard borders the neighborhood which makes easy access to dining, shopping districts and services readily available. Military families also appreciate the close proximity of Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base and Colorado Springs Airport

Cherokee Ridge Golf Course is one of the greatest highlights of Rustic Hills due to its close proximity. It is a beautiful 9-hole course with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. Rustic Hills is also home to Heather Crest Park, Wilson Park, and Henry Park offering well-maintained sports and recreation fields, an excellent playground, plenty of open space, and several trails. The trails surrounding Rustic Hills are not only for walking and hiking but are also zoned for horses.

Other outdoor adventures include Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Glen Eyrie Castle and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The Colorado Xplorer LLC offers many different types of adventure tours from horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking and even rafting and more to allow visitors to take in the mountain scenery, the small town culture and the history that this area has to offer. IVP at The Beach House offers a fun filled place for the family during the day to enjoy some sand volleyball excitement and in the evenings adults only can continue to enjoy fun-filled volleyball tournaments and adults beverages. 

Schools in Rustic Hills

The Colorado Springs School District 11 is one of the oldest and most diverse school districts in El Paso County. It's a rather large school district with over 60 schools including alternative, online and charter school options. According to Greatschools.org, the primary schools zoned for students of Rustic Hills are Henry Elementary School rated 3/10, Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy Middle School rated 7/10, and Mitchell High School rated 2/10. The district also offers Thomas Maclaren State Charter School for students K-12 and was given a rating of  7/10. While these are not the best schools in the district, they definitely have room for improvement.

Homes in Rustic Hills

Homes in Rustic Hills are situated in mature lots that range in size from 0.2 to 2.5 acres with beautiful views of Pikes Peak. The neighborhood consists of 205 homes that were mostly built between the 1960s and 1970s with one-fourth of the properties home to horses. The homes in Rustic Hills are generally three to five-bedroom homes and range in size from 1,500 square feet up to approximately 3,500 square feet.

Each home boasts nice outdoor areas, patios or decks for outdoor entertainment. Home prices in Rustic Hills are very affordable with home prices ranging from the mid-$100,000’s up to around $300,000. There is not a mandatory Homeowners Association in Rustic Hills but there is an Improvement Association that is included in the purchase of a home in Rustic Hills. The Association enforces its protective covenants in order to maintain the integrity of the community.
